How to Enter my class (every day)

CLASS RULES:
School rules will be enforced without exception.
1.  Hoodies are not to be worn into class or kept in your lap as class proceeds.
2. Phones should be left in your locker or the caddy in the classroom.
3. If you are not in your seat as the bell rings, you are late and will be written up as such.
4. Courtesy must be shown to every person in the classroom. Cursing, Side Conversations while someone has the floor, or rudeness will not be tolerated.
5. After class has started, you may not leave your seat without permission. Garbage should be held until the end of class and then placed (not thrown from a distance) into the trash or recycling bin as you leave.

Each day you should finish your conversation , throw any food, gum, or colored beverage, and take your earbuds out of your ears
while still in the hall. Then, you should enter the classroom, put your back-pack on the floor, take out your notebook (Binder) and some reading material, and read until class begins.
Earbuds are not allowed.  You may not put your head down and close your eyes. There might be a "Do Now" on the board instead of reading time.
There is NO TALKING during reading time / Do Now time.
More about reading time-  It is NOT for finishing homework, listening to music, or anything else but reading.  Some days I will provide News clippings or other current events material for you- but most days you are welcome to read a book.
The ability to focus on reading material is becoming a lost art and this time is designed to help you with this skill. In my experience, the difference between students that do well on the SAT and those that do not, is Personal Reading.
