Michael Tuttle is a teacher of Social Studies at Dumont High School. His primary areas of teaching are Honor World History, U.S. History I CP and CP Advanced, He has taught Ancient History, APUSH Sociology and Criminal Justice..
Mr. Tuttle joined the Department of Social Studies at Dumont High School in 2023. Before that, He spent ten years teaching at Lodi High School, where he advised Lodi High School’s Mock Trial and Debate Societies as well as Student Union and Chess Club.
His professional experience includes working as a research assistant at The University of Cardiff in the UK, serving as a Security Consultant for former President Richard Nixon, and twenty-eight years as a Police Officer in Ho-Ho-Kus New Jersey.
Mr. Tuttle is a member of the NJ Education Association, Police Honor Legion of New Jersey and is a life member of the New Jersey State Police Benevolent Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science and Criminal Justice from St. Thomas Aquinas College and earned certificates in education with advanced standing (CEAS) in Social Studies and English Language Arts-MS from Ramapo College of New Jersey. His academic philosophy explores the connection between history and human self- identity. He is a 1993 VISA Scholar in Psychology.
