How to write a Thank-You Note

Whether you are thanking Grandma for that birthday gift, following up on a job (or college) interview, or simply saying hello to a friend, sending a note follows the same formula as any writing task:
1. State your purpose.
2. Provide some context, back-story, evidence, and/or causation (how it ended).
3. A clear ending or summation.

Try this:

The first week in February marks National School Counseling Week .
Take a CLEAN loose leaf page.
Address it to YOUR Guidance Counselor.
1. Tell them why you are writing ( Thank You)

2. Thank them for being your counselor, tell them ONE THING that they did to help you, either academically or personally (this part makes in meaningful).
3. Tell them that you are grateful for their help.

Say Sincerely,
Sign it
Fold it in half and write your counselor's name on the outside.
Hand it forward.
