DUMONT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT WORK
TUTTLE TENURE PORTFOLIO

I encourage students to find original ways to find their voices in their assignments These are a few submissions (all video was used with permission from parents) that represent work I've assigned here at Dumont High School.

Extra Credit assignment Submitted by Michaela Molina Grade 9
Class of 2027

I rarely give extra credit, but one way I encouraged students to read outside the classroom was to provide this opportunity to read Michael Morpurgo's classic "WarHorse" and write a review of it for a half-letter grade on a test or quiz.

Student as Teacher Project
Angelina Aguirre and Karan Shah 9th Grade Class of 2028

Treaty of Versailles Project

One of my favorite lessons is the "Welcome to Versailles" Project. The Class is divided into three teams, Britain, France, and the US.  Each team has to form committees to negotiate different aspects of the treaty and then meet together to hammer out the actual treaty. This class organized themselves very well; they created their own ground rules and marked agreed upon topics on the board- their own idea!
